Candice C. Hardin is a native of Cincinnati, OH and a proud alumna of Spelman College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. After obtaining her Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University, Candice joined the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) system as an elementary school teacher. Candice went on to acquire her Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership and School Administration from Bellarmine University. For the past fourteen years, Candice has served the students, families, educators and school administrators of the Kentucky and surrounding areas as a reading resource teacher, academic instructional coach, university professor and consultant.

In her current role, Candice engages in the important work of championing access to quality education for all as a Coach in the JCPS Louisville Teacher Residency (LTR) program. The LTR program affords Candice a larger platform for cultivating culturally responsive teachers committed to providing high-quality, equitable education to diverse learners. Outside of JCPS, Candice serves as a consultant with Millennium Learning Concepts and Level Up Consulting.

Candice has been recognized by the Class Act Federal Credit Union as a “Hero In Education” and by Hilliard Lyons as a “Teacher of Excellence”. A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Candice is a champion for public education, an advocate of cultural equity, and the proud mother of Jasmine C. Hardin. Candice is committed to fostering positive connections and inclusive learning experiences that empowers and elevates students and educators, because for her it is not just a job, it is a lifestyle.
